Consulting - The core business of Zoss Communications, Inc. was, for many years, consulting. For nearly 15 years, while based in South Bend, Indiana, I served businesses and non-profits by offering management, marketing and communications, and fund raising advice and services. In 2000 my family relocated to Bloomington, Indiana, and since then my career has turned to work as a full-time fund raiser. The consulting section of this site tells what I did to help consulting clients and how I managed the practice. Helpful white papers and other materials are also offered. I now work in fund raising and philanthropy and do not accept consulting clients.

Fountain Pens - We all need a good hobby and for my wife and me this involves collecting fountain pens. For over ten years, since the days of packet mail, I have moderated a free international mailing list for pen collectors that helps about 1800 collectors of writing instruments and related materials to discuss pens, sell and trade, and enjoy their hobby or business using the power of the internet. Information about the list can be found in this section. A subscription is free to all!

Mediation Services - I am a licensed attorney and also on the roll of civil mediators maintained by the Indiana Supreme Court. The use of a neutral party can often bring parties in a dispute together in order to seek an amicable and affordable solution without litigation. This training helped me in my work as a consultant and also can be useful to a fund raiser (which I define as being a "friend raiser.") I now work in fund raising and philanthropy and do not accept law or mediation clients.
