This is the third of five pages acknowledging the support of list subscribers. For several years my policy was to list supporters of the list and include photos, comments, links, and so forth. The Zoss Pens List is a free mailing list for people interested mostly in collecting fountain pens, although it also covers a lot of different subjects. I occasionally send a reminder that people who benefit from the list (especially those using the free list to make money) might consider a contribution to the list. This listing was a way of acknowledging those who have supported the list, either because of their gains or, in the case of many, just out of goodwill. NOTE: In more recent years I have discontinued this listing. Several donors prefer to remain anonymous and I felt subjecting some of these "invisible" friends to criticism for apparently not donating was against my rules regarding civility. This page reflects early history of the Pens List but these pages have proven very popular to visitors so I leave them accessible. This section is not being maintained. Apologies for broken links, etc.
Curt Dubanevich - Curt, who also goes by the name "Mr. Pen Head," held an auction in late March for a black
Vacumatic Parker pen, and another bonus item, all to the benefit of the list. The winner was Craig Lewis, who won not only the Vac but also a NOS gold filled (unmarked) John Holland watch
chain pencil. This was a very tiny gf metal pencil with a thick lead that dates from ca. 1890. The support of these two fine gentlemen is very much appreciated. BANNER ADVERTISERS - In late March I began adding banner advertising to the Pens List-related web pages on my
site. I'd like to thank my first "customers" who have so willingly jumped on the bandwagon. They are supporting the list but also, I know, hopeful that you will click on one of their banners and
visit their sites. Please thank the following: Joe Engel and the fine people at Penbid.com, Len Provisor of Provisor Promotions at Inkblotters.com, and Allen Gross at Pensplus.com. Woodside Works - Of the four ways people can help this list two
involve commission arrangements made by people willing to compensate the list for sales made through links on this site. We receive a regular commission
check from Scott at Woodside Words, the U.S. distributor for the fine Platinum Pens line of products. For those of you who order his products through the Pens Lisk link, I thank you, as well
as Scott and his fine organization. Terry Mahoney - Terry operates a clothing imprinting business in Canada and offered a clever set of caps and
shirts to list subscribers, using the "SUMGAI" motif. Several of you ordered these and Terry sent a commission to the list from Thunder Bay, Ontario. The check is still thawing out (just kidding!)
but I do appreciate his support and that of those who ordered. Bob Whitmire - Bob is a long-time supporter of the pens list, both with donations and creative contributions. As
proprietor of Moose Meadow Pens in Maine he also sells some pens, too. (Click on the name to go to his web site) He sent in an uninked Parker 51 as a
donation, which is a wonderful example of my favorite pen for my collection. Thanks, Bob.
Book Purchasers - Earlier I noted donations of books written
by Andreas Lambrou, coming from Realpens.com and Classic Pens Incorporated. I have sold these books to the
following supporters of this list: Jeanny House, Tom Zahm, Kent Mastores, Jim Steinborn, Ron LaPedis, and Gary Bartosiewicz. Thanks again to everyone. Ray Adams - Ray is the owner of Wood 'N
Dreams which is a company that offers an interesting and unusual line of fine writing instruments. Ray sent a cash donation to benefit the list. I urge you to visit his web site to check out his
interesting handcrafted products at http://www.friends.together.com/wnd/. Thanks for your support.
Nathan Tardif - Nathan is an expert repairman and dealer selling restored or repaired vintage fountain pens. He's
terribly busy doing his own repairs and often doesn't have time to accept outside work, but you should at least see what he has to offer - they work and they're fairly priced. He has made a generous
donation to benefit the list. Visit his web site at http://http://members.aol.com/scaupaug/page1/. I thank him for the support.
Ron LaPedis - You
may recognize the RealPens.com people by their slogan, which is "If it doesn't suck ink from a bottle, it's not a real pen."(sm) RealPens.com is an authorized dealer for Ancora, Delta, Pelikan, Platinum, Visconti and more. They have donated two copies of
the "Bible" of pen collecting, "Fountain Pens of the World," by Andreas
Lambrou. These will be sold to raise some liquid assets for the list. You
should visit their web site at http://realpens.com. I thank him, and the company, for the generous support.
Weaver McCracken - A long-time member and
supporter of the list, Weaver donated something I had read about but
never seen... the Visconti traveling ink pot. As the box says, it
is "the perfect solution." Thank
you very much, Weaver. Check out his web site.
Scott Woodside - Another long-time member and supporter of the list sent a sample of
their new Stainless Armor stainless steel pen with, I believe, a white gold nib setting that is just stunning. It is very modern looking but offers writing quality like a vintage pen. Of course, you
probably know about the Platinum Pen line of very fine pens but the supply is constantly changing and you should visit their web site regularly, if
only to thank Scott for his support of this list. Platinum also gives the list a commission on sales through our link, so
explore that, too, if you have an order in mind. Thanks to all.
Robert Lynch -
Mr. Lynch mailed a very supportive donation to the list for the holidays
and I thank him. He says, "The list has been a wonderful source
of information, opinion, and recommendations, and I want to thank
you for your efforts."
Joel R. Hamilton - Joel sent a donation to the list for the holidays and it is much appreciated. He does some repairs and also sells pens so check out his web site at INKPEN - VINTAGE WRITING INSTRUMENTS. Thanks, Joel. Click here for the next page of supporters, please.
